SYNOPSIS
Basil, a taxi driver, and his family live in desperate poverty until one night, in despair, Basil reproaches the Heavens: "Is this all you're capable of?"
Returning home, he sees his life from the outside. His past, where dreams of becoming an architect seemed real, and a future confined within the four rooms of his worn-out apartment.
Immersing himself in memories, Basil returns to his youth, where on the path to the extraterrestrial Monolith, he encountered his wife.
RECLAIMING THE LOST DREAM
This is not just a story about a taxi driver. It is a story for the tens of millions who have forgotten how to dream, who have forgotten how to love. People need hope and a sense that everything can be fixed.
The film acts as a "helping hand," leading the viewer through suffering to a place of transcendence. Basil represents all who are "lost" in the repetitive cycle of existence.
THE MONOLITH
It symbolizes the light of the child each of us once was. Dreamy, powerful, and fearless.
This light warms us through the coldest nights, if only we can find the way back.
The Monolith is the hope that washes away the blood of a century-long battle.
